Nataal

Available both digitally and in prints, Nataal launches its debut print edition in May 2018.  The large format, 336-page magazine is a biannual showcase for inspiring artists whose work is shaping global African creativity today. They hope the publication becomes a tangible and much-needed space for positive dialogue and diverse storytelling. Their exclusive online content profiles the brightest designers, storytellers, tastemakers and cultural revolutionaries, both on and off the continent. From in-depth interviews with artists to unique visual essays and fashion shoots, Nataal celebrates innovation in all its guises.

Nataal collaborates globally to curate talks, exhibitions and events and their partners have included AKAA in Paris, Southbank Centre in London and M-Bassy in Hamburg. They have also been a media partner for Afropunk Fest, Design Indaba and ARTX Lagos. In May 2016 they co-hosted their first New African Photography exhibition with Red Hook Labs in Brooklyn, which has gone on to become an annual show. It features exciting emerging artists and comprises a launch party, roundtable talks, 10-day show and print sales coinciding with the 1-54 and Frieze art fairs.
