Umongo

Design is a mental game, creating design strategies to execute our projects is important. Umongo is a design platform created by Mlondolozi Hempe. It explores art and design through Hempe’s Architectural profession and fuses influences of his heritage and childhood. Umongo is purposefully plat-formed work within a South African Context. Growing from the organic process into clean linear symbols merged with unexpected materials to marry contemporary perceptions of structure to that of cultural reference. Learning new skills while collaborating with his peers.

Passing on what we learn to clients is important to give them the best design experience.  Umongo does not just create furniture. Umongo creates products that add character to your home as they see furniture and products as the embodiment of who you are. Designing and curating exhibitions also excites them.
