Mariam Kamara
Mariam is an architect from Niamey, Niger. She received her Bachelor of Science in Information Systems with a minor in Fine Arts from Purdue University, her Master in Computer Science from New York University, and her Master of Architecture from the University of Washington. She is registered with the Order of Architects in Niger. Mariam is experienced in the areas of housing, public works, education, and urban design projects and has worked in the U.S. and in Niger.
Mariam Kamara is the founder and Principal of atelier masōmī. Her work is guided by the belief that architects have an important role to play in providing a better quality of life for millions, with solutions that come from within. She is also a founding member of united4design, a global collective of architects working on projects in the U.S., Afghanistan and Niger. The 38years old was appointed in 2017 as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Urban Studies at Brown University.
