Israel Wekpe

Israel (Easerel) is an actor-trainer, director, academic and an all-round theatre practitioner. He is a PhD researcher at University of Leeds, UK, and lecturer in the Department of Theatre Arts, University of Benin. His research essentially centres on acting training in Nigerian Universities primarily and urban Nigeria broadly. His areas of interest include: Ola Rotimi, intercultural acting training, directing for stage & screen, devising theatre, new directions in Nigerian writing, safety theatre & digital performances.
